This Is The Reason

To some it might seem
like long long ago
but really 2000 years
Is not long for earth

Most feel that this is the time
for getting gifts and new things
Merchants have covered it up
What should be a celebration of a birth

A promise made by God
To save the mankind He loved
So He decided to give the ultimate
He sent His son Jesus from above

Born to a carpenter
and a young girl around hay bales
They knew what was to come
The past messengers had told the details

The old testament books
had covered it well
exactly what to look for
the signs that would tell

The birth of a king
A bright star in the sky
Shepherds came from the fields
To where a little baby now lye

They knelt and they prayed
They gave honor to Him
They sang songs of joy
Their hearts smiled through each hymn

Christmas is a time of much
But it really is about giving
As God gave His only Son
For when Jesus would died all sins forgiven

Instead of wondering
what we might get
Give of yourself
Give to those others forget

It doesn't take money
to give of yourselves
It just takes time
Help those that cant help themselves

For Christmas is about Jesus
It is about true love
A love no greater is there for you
Than from our God above

So if you feel lonely
and no one it there
Smile if your reading this
Jesus does truly care
