I love this poem so much.

To me it's more than just the simple idea of looking into a mirror and not liking what you see. It's the changes we can go through when we are getting older, physical and mental. I love the images in this poem and the last stanza was awesome.

It makes me think that when we die, we return to dust. We take no physical possessions with us. It reminds me about what we take for granted and how materialistic we can be. How set we are on becoming the most beautiful person.

A lot of thoughts have come to me while reading this poem.

    AWESOME

While I was reading, images were forming on my mind. I was picturing the mirror and looking at how we age. It's impressive how everything changes and how we don't realize it until we look at the mirror. So in my opinion the mirror is the feeder of vanity and also it can be the door that leads to depression for many woman. I like this poem because it's great, it shows that beauty is not everything. There are more important things on life.

This is Mind vs. Body put into a whole different perspective. Ha ha. I liked this. I agree with Lioness though, about it being more than an idea of looking into the mirror and not liking what you see. She really said it! Beauty isn't only skin deep, I think that aging is a beautiful thing. It shows signs of wisdom and experience and that is something you should be proud of, I think ^_^ Although, I know you're far from being old, Only being 41 and all -Quiet Giggle- It's light-hearted and cute yet very thoughtful! Great write!

This poem conveys the negative attitude or perception of aging the wrinkles ......rolls here and there and how society impacts on our self -image. .........'I decide to pull apart the strings' .........maybe freeing yourself ? I enjoyed this write will read it again. Great imagery ! Well done Maple
