WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY

by Kamogelo FMfosi   Mar 27, 2012

A woman screams loud
A scream that would alert one
But not sure about what
I see people running
All over the place

Wait................
This is not like any other place
But a hospital
A woman's scream leads to the
Delivery ward
And the people running all over the place
Are the nurses and the mid-wife

Screams loud because of the
Delivery pains
The nurses help to calm her down
To support her during the delivery

She had delivered fine
On the twenty-eight of February a little boy was born
She is no longer just like any other woman
But a mother
A mother of a little boy
She gave him a nice name 'Brian'

She cares for him
She nurtures him
Give him love just like any other mother would do
She sees him grow

Twenty-seven years later after the delivery
We meet him
But different from the small boy we know
He had become responsible young man

He had grown tall
Handsome as he charms the ladies
Coffee color is his complexion
To show that indeed he had encountered
The harsh sun of Africa
Really! That's what is expected
For his skin color
To be a black man
Just like his ancestors

He had fallen in love
With a lady the color of his skin
Who he would look in the eye
And be proud to say he loves her
What I admire about him
Is the way he embraces her body
The way he treats him like a queen

On the 28 of February we wish him
The twenty-seven years he had lived
And to grow until God forbid
Happy be-related birthday
