I think this is a feeling that a lot of people can relate to. theres nothing definitely wrong yet but the growing distance is supremely disconcerting. i really like this piece, and i think it is very well written and relatable.

That night when the sun started to set,
The colors ignited a beauty in the darkness,
That could only be echoed by the likes of you.

    - oh this is a beautiful start to a poem, it reminded me of the great northern lights you see in films above the mountains where the great spirits meet. I love the imagery this had for me, thank you!

Like the very sun that dips in the horizon,
You were the center of my world,
The very light that led me home.
I always found myself a drift around you,
Feeling as if I could have had wings to fly.
With your arms wrapped tightly around me,
I felt like I was a cat basking in the sunshine,
Just falling asleep in the warmth of your rays.

    - this is such a peacfeul thought to think of the cat lazing in the sun and how relaxing it is for them and how much they enjoy it. It shows the great impact this person has on you and your life.

And like the setting of the sun,
As it slowly sets itself beyond the horizon,
I feel you slowly stepping back, slowly letting go.

    - this ending is sad, I can take from this to represent either the loss of someone through illness, or the change in relationships when we feel the person slipping into a coldness and distant place but yet they are still beside us, this is heart breaking to go through and to know what it was before the change, such perfection.

    Great work, adored it .
