You know, this piece allowed me to hear the beating of rain drops.... Ive heard that repetitious sound many times before... when a relationship/friendship ends, the emptiness can be as heart breaking as the beating of rain... its an empty feeling and this piece is very powerful :-)

The title is what caught my eye (I have this almost perverse "thing" for acoustics lol)

The imagery in the first stanza was powerful enough to take me to that place where I could imagine the tapping rhythm of rain on the pane of glass...

I also really like this line:
"The down pour on the rooftop picks up speed, as does the melody in my mind."

I could just picture the thoughts racing in your head, matching the pissing rain coming down...

But THIS line is what kills me
"As if morphine were oozing through my veins like venom,
to the root of my pain."

I can feel the rush straight through the veins (and to my heart.)

This poem was descriptive, making it easy for me, as the reader, to imagine the heartache...

And I love the comparision of the rainstorm, and the rush of thoughts in your mind to "An acoustic beating of the soul."

This is the first poem of yours I've read, and it's the shiz.

    Just sayin. =)

"The title is what caught my eye (I have this almost perverse "thing" for acoustics lol)"

^^.... Possibly the funniest sentence I've read in a while :D.... Maybe because I use the term "its my thing", so it amused me that its not just me... made me giggle a lot!

I usually like the rain & thunderstorms, but I didn't that night!

Thank you for your comment 'the shiz'... Also made me chuckle. :D
