Damn, you used Nuclear Physics in a love poem. Hot!

Will have to come back and post a better comment, first thing in the morning.

    Back to the comment.

I am swimming in atomic love.

^ This was a thinker. Is every atom of the author attracted to his/her lovers atom?. .or is every atom of the author excited about love?. .

    There is no fission here.

^ Means there is no division. No splitting.

I only have half the time to live this
half a life but I'll live it with you
    under endless winter.

^ Half life in physics is used to describe the property of radioactive decay. The author is conveying to his/her lover, that what little time he/she has will suffice and that he/she would like to spend it with the lover. Time is relative and need not be used to measure the length of their love.

I am spellbound by this reaction,
    billowing mushroom clouds,
    blackened earth,
    your neon eyes.

    My nuclear dream.

^ Here is the sweet contradiction. Unless there is a fission, there can be no mushroom clouds. Thus no nuclear dream. But, perhaps the author is merely describing the intensity of their love as such, comparing it to a nuclear detonation. Immensely bright, an emotional burst of uncontrollable energy. i.e affection. Although, technically it is just the release of pheromones, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, which act in a manner similar to amphetamines, stimulating the brain's pleasure center, causing fluctuations on the heart beat, creating serene pleasure.

Sorry for the specifics. I have a soft corner for science. And do correct me If I am wrong.

    Very well written. Loved it.

I'm not home right this second, but wanted to take a second to tell you that I am so impressed with your break down of this!

I am smiling, knowing that you totally caught the use of half life!!

I will be back in a bit to comment further.

      Thank you =)

      Okay...

Back to comment a bit further-

      1. As I mentioned before, I appreciate the fact that you pick up on the physics and scientific jargon.
Most people will read about fission and continue through the piece, not really understanding what I am saying.

Same definitely goes for "half life."

Your interpretation, again, is dead on.
Time is relative and is of no bearing on how long I would honor this person with myself.

      2. Refreshing that you also pick up on the contradiction at the end. And you are correct, the contradiction was a merely an attempt at explaining the intensity of my feelings, even if this energy is similar to that of a drug induced high :P

Thank you again for your comment.
