First off, I LOVE the title:)
There's sadness in this poem I can see it so clear. I think everyone can. This a wow so perfectly written.

One more thing the last stanza looks like a moon, was that intended?

    Awesome poemold fella^____^

    You left me standing alone
    under a viaduct freeway,
    spray painting my name
    for the sake of love.

    - Such vivid imagery here. I got the image of a young couple and how young love seems so easy to "buy" with gestures such as graffiti. I could honestly imagine how the guy would think this is impressive but your heart longs for something more than this.

    I allowed the stillness of
one kiss to root my soul
    in cemented promises,
    growing in darkness,
    until the cracks of my
    soul stopped crying.

    - such power in your words Maple, it is deep and strong and for me this relates to holding onto something because perhaps not what we need to, even want to, but we do somehow keep ourselves attached to the situation.

    The art of ones heart
    needs to bask in rays
    of sunshine, for specs
    of emerald and rust
    grow cold upon a graffiti
    moon...

    - This must be one of your most bestestest ever stanza's. It is brilliance, so poetic and true. It is your touch of nature into this poem of emotion and love.

    I refuse
    to be a secret,
    hushed away
    like yesterdays
    mistake....

    - Powerful ending which I can relate to a lot, no one should be hidden away or made to feel this way. I can imagine you here painting over the graffiti so it never exisited and making yourself stand up for who you are and what you deserve!

    Great Work!

I don't know why I miss some of your writes...usually if I cannot comment I still read and vote...sometimes I just get too into the write it moves me,

I love this piece, the sadness is there but there's a strength, why should we be hidden, if someone thinks we should be a secret, they aren't worth of us, we need to be seen, heard...if we are loved, we as women should be loved openly.

    Anyways, my deary...I loved this...
