If I go with the content of the poem, yeah that's a disappointing purpose for marriage.

However, that's not the purpose of marriage in my opinion. it should be because they love each other and they want to either their love be bless by God or they want their children to be acknowledged in society not as bastards but as children that were born in a marriage. So purpose of marriage is thinking about having a family and being together in my opinion not because of curiosity or because they are fatigue.

But you covered a good point, I guess that's why there are more and more divorces.
