I'm not familiar with "The phantom of the opera", so I couldn't really relate to that, it was a nice surprise to see the note at the end though.

But I sensed the choice between two things, and I loved how you explained the choice, about how it was only his eyes that seep terror... (I love the word "seep") staying isn't a choice you can make, or a chance to take.

I really love the darkness in this, the tone isn't too strong that it takes away the story, yet is still enough to work.

Really good write...and I love when you bracket things, makes me add those parts in as another voice, or a back thought...
