Holy silence

by Partha Paul   Sep 4, 2013

He stands before
a holy , live idol
with folded hands ;
utters the words
from his heart :
" O god , i trust you a lot"
"make wishes with hopes "
"see to it , my belief never falters" .

the adorable, holy idol
stayed solemnly silent ;
no nod ,no blink
and never a wink --------

the believer leaves
the place in a while
reassured and happy .

some moons later
pays a visit there ;
then gloomy and sullen ;
far too careworn--
stands before the idol
holy and live !
hands loosely folded ;
evidently dismayed ,
utters in tearful voice :
" i thought, you listen to me "
"bless me through the times "
" but you are deaf , dumb and blind "
" reposed my faith on an idle statue " !
" that`s that , i`ll never come to you
never ever again " .

the holy and live idol
kept seriously silent ;
no nod , no blink
never ever a wink --------
