Wow Maple, so much vivid imagery inside this poem.

First of all, to open the poem with darkness being a friend, somehow implies to me that you have felt this way before, you have been here and it all seems too familiar. I think it can express that you have experienced a lot of sadness, or turmoil in your life, and you have come to know it well.

Then to go on to explain about the memories of yesterdays, this can be painful to look back. But what you do is keep it a bit secretive, the reader does not know your memories, but you state that no one does. Only your tears know the truth.

    I really liked :

    teardrops hold a
    diary that only soil
    shall hold sacred.

    - It is touching, powerful, sad, creative. It holds so much. It made me think of how many secrets really are beneath the soil in this world Maple. Probably thousands and more. Secrets untold, stories unheard.
Perhaps with a little rewording of this small piece, you could create a separate senyru type poem, just capturing that little point.

In the end, you show your fear of facing this memory, this pain, so you bury it where it feels safer. Which is something we are all guilty of doing.

Again, I feel the emotion inside this poem, and see the nature describing some powerful emotions that are lurking inside of your beautiful heart.

You word things so well. always enjoy your reads, and the idea inside this poem appealed to me.

    Well done.
