The title really caught my eye. And this is actually a great poem with a lot of twists in it. I believe you start out with a sorrowful suspense. And it holds a powerful message. It is very true that nowadays people are only concerned with money and greed. There doesn't seem to be a lot of love anymore. Anyway this stanza really does a great job to set up the message you wanted to say and the message you send.

Second- I think deep down inside of us all we just want to be loved, how were raised can either make us or break us as we grow older. I loved the use of emotions you used because it adds so much to the poem overall. I think you did a great jov adding sorrowful and I suppose just negative words to describe the "main character" who seems to be the piano player. But I think piano player is a metaphor for president or some kind of controller or leader... a mastermind even.

Third- Iris' s have two meanings well at least I know, eyes or flowers. I believe you or the "hero" is the iris. Though only a flower I think you show the beauty of the world. I loved that you put this in though only a metaphor, even heros can feel hurt inside. The difference between dark and light is well viewed and here at the first half of the poem darkness seems to be winning. The fourth stanza is the height of that darkness too and it tells me two things, this man is very powerful and you are the flower that holds that beauty the world needs.

Last stanza- There is sometimes sadness within death and it does hit you hard. But I loved how you twisted that around. Death can make both people free as morbid as that sounds. It gives a person a chance to start over in some sense. Anyways. This poem is so so beautiful maple. You take on a journy through each stanza and there are a lot of twists and turns. I am humbled by the way you write. :).

I felt a VERY close connection with this piece of poetry and I didn't know why, because I wasn't sure what exactly it was about. I'm so glad you posted a comment with a little more insight, because it makes total sense. You know what happened with my mom and I, I think, and that's why I felt so connected. This is a beautiful poem, with much sadness and frustration, but done so eloquently. I love this!
