The New Year (Day 31)

Just yesterday it was January.
I was promising my resolutions
and scared of the idea of a new year.

Just yesterday it was April.
I was working on my resolutions,
determined to see them through
and finding my happiness.

Just yesterday it was June.
My resolutions were being held
and I was happy with my year so far.

Just yesterday it was October.
I was tempted to go back on my resolutions,
I was in such a bad place
and cursing 2014.

It's December now.
I held my 2014 resolutions
with only a few mess ups.

I was so convinced it would be my year,
but for some reason,
it was only my year for the first half.

Tomorrow's a new year.
New resolutions to uphold,
new promises to make
and break.

Another year of happiness
and despair.
Another year of love
and heartbreak.
Another year of bliss
and pain.

I can't wait.
