    It's early in the morning
    streetlights are still burning,
lives were taken throughout the night.

^ Wow, you set the scene up so nicely here. This holds a lot of emotion in it alone. It is in the morning but not enough for the sun to rise yet as the street lights are on yet. and through out the night there have been killings outside.

The sun is slowly rising above
    most of us waking up,
    dealing with daily struggles.

^ Yes it is true that we all deal with struggles inside and outside in our lives. and as the sun slowly wakes up so do we, to know that we are alive, it is difficult for a lot of people because of depression, and not only that but the media is always so negative, that impacts how we feel as well.

The world itself has not much changed
the human race however, is going insane.
People killing each other just because.

^ This is a powerful stanza that rings true in the world nowadays, and I disagree a little bit, the world is changing but it is for the worse because of people, and it is just a vicious cycle going around, but you are right the killings are a lot worse now and they are for nothing.

Winters are getting colder and summers hotter
    water destroying the land,
trees are falling, concrete is growing
    no room left for nature.

^ This is the change in the world in a big negative way, people are destroying the beauty of nature and human life. This holds great imagery that is the truth. Human don't realize that we are the ones that are killing the animals and in that we are killing ourselves as well.

War is not the answer but we keep on fighting
    black, white, yellow and read,
we all speak the same language, it's called death.

^ No matter who you are, we are killing anyone that stands in our way to get what we want. Death is a language the we do speak, and it is sad. But I love this poem Dagmar, there is so much emotion within it, and it is all true. 5/5

This poem speaks really loud about the truth of the world at the moment and the state that it is in. I think it is good the Dagmar has not tried to fill the poem with anything other than the thoughts which were swimming in her head at the time and she clearly shows us how the way of the world is affecting her emotions. It is a poem that makes you feel helpless about the future of the world. A simple, yet great write!

Hello, Dagmar. I am glad to see that you are still writing :) I have been wanting to comment on your poems for a while now, but I just don't seem to have the words these days or the thoughts.

In the last stanza, second verse, I think 'read' is supposed to be 'red,' assuming that you may be talking about skin colors or something. I could be wrong though, but it is your poem, and you do what you wish :)

Anyway, glad to see that you are still writing! I have always enjoyed reading your poems :)

    Beautiful
