The Good Ol' Times

by OneAndOnly   May 16, 2017

Screaming and shouting is all we hear in the day.
While sweet snores and long lasting cuddles
Is what we hear and feel in the night.
While our cold days are becoming warmer nights.
We will love each other For all of life.
Until the day you become my wife.
I will do my best that I could be by your side.
There’s so much we hide. So much we confide.
I know with me changing certain ways,
Everything will go back to the way it once was.
When we’d stay up through the night
My car parked out your front gate,
Splashing water on you that were left on it
From the fog through the dark and humid night.
I wanted so badly to just reach in and kiss you,
So badly just to reach in and hold you.
You were broken and all I wanted was to
Mend your heart back together, kissing every wound,
Gently touching each and every scar.
You frightened me in all ways but horrible.
And now would you take a look?
What have we’ve become;
I ask myself on a daily.
I believe there’s light at the end of the tunnel
I know there is a little at the end of ours.
Each and every day just makes for a bright and shinier one.
So let’s jump in my car like old time sake,
Take it for a joy ride down the back roads of Blueberry Hill.
Going 20 miles an hour sipping on cold Smirnoff ,
Smoking a sweet , sweet cherry cigar.
Tomorrow is far from being promised,
So why not start with today?
