Beautiful narrative, and it stuck both home and a chord of guilt in my heart.

My husband and I signed our divorce papers this morning. I left him 4 months ago and just got the courage to face him again. I tend to forgive far too easily when my heart is involved.

The title is very straight forward and it tells me that you are divorcing your partner. But i like it because it prepares the reader for what the poem will be about.

Stanza one- Good start to the poem. I do really like the first line a lot because it is something you want. In the end it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks. There is definitely two sides to every divorce and i love how you show both sides here. Your partners heart being broken. If my feeling is right it tells me that the divorce is their fault not yours. Their words seem to be shaky. I like the hidden words behind the lines.

Stanza two- This lines imagery is really great. We signed- that tells me you were both together when you signed them. Sometimes it's hard being civil to do one thing. The dialogue is a great touch in my opinion. It makes it feel more real. You were supposed to grow old together, but something happened to break that trust.

Stanza three- The continuation of the last stanza to this one is exactly what is needed. You tell why you were getting a divorce. You were calm through all this and your partner has put the blame on you. I find that if that your partner blames you for something you did not do, they are hiding something. Someone else stole your partners heart. There is sadness but hope here because you know this is the right thing to do.

Stanza four- The way this stanza is written, is brilliant because it is a powerful feeling when you break free from someone who has hurt you. The bed has become cold because it seems like over time your partner has become distant. Overall this story is well told and consistent. Well done.
