Wow I can relate to this so much! I think you have made this poem so simple and it speaks just exactly how raw the pain feels when the person we love let’s us down, you have not went in too much detail between the two people which is good because it means we can then all relate to it.

The shards of your heart is powerful and it’s hard knowing that something is already so shattered and yet there appears to me one more hit for that heart to take, knowing it won’t survive the pain.

I like the attitude of this poem, it doesn’t seem to hold anger or regret or anything aimed at that person , it’s like you are so gentle and forgiving because you could not ever hate this person even though they have hurt you so much. Usually these topics come with a mix of love and hate for the ones we lost, but this is simply just too filled with the love which makes it worse because the pain must have been so deep for them to mean that much to you, then walk away.
