    Digging the rhythm, Ben and, of course, your nature references that paint a woeful tale of love.

    Hello Ben,
    I like the title 'it's Time We Took The Blame" because although it's a straight forward one it could be for many a thing in my humble opinion but I'm guessing it's about 1 or 2 things the shambolic state of the plant of the shambolic state of covid were in at the moment although it seems to be getting better.

    It wasn't wind or misty roads
    That led me from your path;
    Nor was it frost, or driving rain
    That stole me from your heart.
    ^
    This is a sombre start but with some wonderful imagery. This reminds me of my fave poem 'the road not taken' by Robert Frost as it because it seems to state there are many paths in our lives and we have a choice which to choose and this one wasn't meant for you as if it was it would have been come hell or high waters.

    A man can bear so many things
    Before the sun goes down,
    But over time, and by the by,
    The light succumbs to cloud.
    ^
    This is my favourite stanza as it is the tightest rhymed, if that makes sense, even if it is extremely sad.

    I will not have you blame the breeze -
    I will not have you sneer -
    At all that nature did for us
    And all that we held dear.
    ^
    Now, this definitely makes me think that this is about how we've damaged our planet; it saddens and disgusts me just what we have been doing to it and how the generations to come will be left picking up the piece in all honesty. Maybe I'm far wrong but I'm sticking to my guns lol.

    Between us two, the blood ran cold -
    The river broke its banks -
    We followed suit, and couldn't stop
    Our dreams from breaking ranks.
    ^
    Wow, how wrong I was. I absolutely love the metaphors here for astounding work as always, I expect nothing more from your in all honesty.

    We were not meant to stay the course,
    Nor court eternity;
    Our love is now - and always was -
    A pawn to infamy.
    ^
    A sad ending to a very sombre piece but all round a message of better things to come and I say that because as cliqued as it sounds - when one door closes, another door opens. I know this isn't real life (or atleast I don't think it is) but many of us could take alot from this, me included, for example not to hold onto something that isn't good for you because you could be letting go of something that could be truly amazing.
    Take care,
    Em x
