Pearl

by Stephen Levant   Aug 31, 2004

My pearl of great price! Longingly I Gaze upon you ,in the small hours of the night, by candle light. I see your lustre and smile within myself at its brilliance. I breathe upon you.. not unlike breath of life. My hand moves with a slow, rhythmic, motion as it polishes.

At times, I clasp you to my bosom. Other times, I adore you from afar. Either in dreams or wakening, you are beside me feeding passion. At times, you are thunder;at time you are gentle rain.

Wonder of creation abounds you and is indwelt. That which I feel for you is not harshly vulgar but delicately discreet. As I lay me down at night to sleep, pearl of great price my soul may you always keep!
