Just Believe

by МÅťťђĕш Яĕĩŋĕßĕřg   Dec 17, 2004

The sky is dark, the night is here
As the snow falls on the ground.
Children lie awake and listen
For the elusive sleigh bell sound.

In their innocence, they believe
In a sound not heard by some.
To those who cannot believe
The sound will never come.

At one time when we too did dream
And we could hear the ringing bells.
And yet we came to grow too old
For the tale the ringing tells.

There is a light the sleigh bells bring
That glows in each child's eye.
The sound that brings such joy
Will make joyful those who cry.

It is in believing that we hear
The bells on Christmas Eve.
The silence of age will leave us all
If we can just believe.

Believe in the magic of the Eve
Believe, there's no need to hide.
All the magic of this snowy night
Can still be found deep inside.

Believe what your heart is telling you,
And you'll hear it on Christmas Eve.
All the magic can be found inside,
If you just believe.

I got the idea for this from The Polar Express.

What a great season poem. It flowed so beautifully.

I have read some of your other work and I really like your style.

You have an elliptical style of your own.

Check out my new pieces when you can, I would be really interested in your opinions.

    Kind regards
    Happy New Year
