Christmas in the real world!

by Jess   Dec 19, 2004

Christmas is coming, and its coming so soon,
But spare a thought for those living in doom.
For those who cannot see the true meaning,
And for those who are constantly dreaming,
Of a better world, of a better place to live.
We all love to receive, but are we prepared to give?

We all want more, we only want the best.
We can buy what we want, but what about the rest?
There’s children starving in africa, and theyre dying every day.
We all know whats going on, but we turn the other way.
Were not prepared to stop whats going on,
We try and blame each other for what is going wrong.

Theres so many problems everywhere, and here in the UK,
Hungry people sleep on the streets, they’ve got no where to stay,
Some wont get any thing for christams, but all they want is love.
They try and stay strong, hoping that somewhere above,
Someone is looking over them, telling them to believe,
That someday it will all be over, this place they will leave.

All over the world people are dying, and we act like we don’t care,
We don’t put our selfs in their places, don’t imagine we are there.
But they don’t want our charity, they just want to be free,
And its our job to help them, its down to you and me.

If only we opened our eyes, then we might be able to see,
what we could do to help, how better their lifes could be.
because if we don’t then we are just as to blame,
as the ones who are making them suffer, making them go insane.
