No matter how many times
I turn my back.
No matter how bad, stupid
or ugly I act.

No matter how low my grades get
or how sloppy I keep my room.
Or get lazy and lie
and say " I'll do it soon".

You've always been there
to help me change.
So I'm gonna act better now,
because you've been through so much pain.

You've got a lazy brother and sister
lots of bills to pay.
Clean the birds and cat
and people who don't listen to a word you say.

But there shouldn't be just one day
dedicated to you.
It should be all year round.
Luis knows it too.

It took me awhile to write this,
and I know it'll pay.
