Fourth of july

Red yellow purple and blue

in my head I'm next to you

staring at the stars and watching the sparks

that put light in the sky when it is dark

sitting on the roof a blanket covers us both

making us warm when we cuddle close

you lay there beside me and we both close our eyes

as we sleep quietly under the skies

you hold me close our hands clutched together

we both wish this moment would go on forever

but as i said earlier, its all in my head

you could be with me but your with her instead

because with her, you do celebrate

I'm here alone because alone is my fate

i didn't tell you how i felt, and these days I'm asking why?
