Readers. I wrote this one, not because he was a bad dad. but he was a working dad, a hard working one. Driving trucks in the 60's was a challenging task without the technology given today.. Mom raised us many years without my father's presence in the house.

5 years before he died we became close, I forgave... and we began to live life longer. creating memories that I will always keep of him.. no he was not there to teach me how to become that young man,but I had great role models.. brothers and a sister who became my guides. blessed to have had a mother with a strong will to live, not because of what she had done but because of who GOD was. I loved my father still. I thank GOD for allowing me to have such a loving and forgiving spirit. He died Dec 27th 1999 two days before my best friends birthday.

Hey dad, thank you for being there for me. You are the worlds greatest father. I love you, when I read this one i smiled....

I know what you are saying right now, "Mario, I it is because I love you". See you soon. Mario jr.

This is great too. it seemed a little wordy with the "were not there" but it also had a great flow.
