I dont find this confusing in the least bit. I used to be told by my mother all the time that I am ugly and fat, when I really am not, Im 5'7" and only 145 lbs. but because thats my mom I believed what she said and was so depressed. Then in April this year she gave her custody of me away because I date black guys. So I understand how you feel. Your poem may not rhyme, but its from the heart and thats what counts.
