More Than A Mother

by Laci   Dec 17, 2005

You are always concerned, you always care,
When I am troubled, I know you’ll be there.
I can rely on you, I am always sure.
You are more than a mother, much, much more.

You are a mentor, sagacious and insighted.
You share with us your ethics, what wrongs should be righted.
You are to this household, what Athena was to ancient Greece.
You are as precious to Pops and I, as the Argonauts thought was the Golden Fleece.

You are an enthusiast, your zealous words inspire and console.
You comfort and enlighten, then guide us towards our goal.
You brighten us when we are sullen, you shepherd us when we are astray,
When we are stressed and anxious and lost, you are there to show us the way.

You are a provider, an Angel of giving,
You give us hope, faith, kindness, love, and teach us skills for living.
You are a market of miracles, a blessing store,
You are more than a mother, much, much more.
