Great write, I can only suggest structuring it as more of a poem. The flow doesn't go perfectly in it's current format.

Below the murky water she lurks.
As if she knows,
As if she desires,
Attention we are so willing to give her. But, unlike us, she realizes that the pleasure is in the chase.
She stays deep beneath the surface,
Under the radar,
Breaching the water
With her long rigid neck,

Perhaps this helps?
Other than that, the actual description is amazing, and such a powerful topic, the poem presents mystery, and the question of truth. Excellently written.
