Oh Easter

Easter Poem

walking down the sidewalk
early sunday morning
off to the park behind
the evil old man's home
smells of cupcakes and
early morning dew
little babys crawl
to a circle to gather
colored ellipses filled
with treats for mommy and daddy
watching and cheering
teens scoff and wait their turn
to rummage in the foliage
for candy to trade with neighboring children
going home sitting up high
a tree house away from
demanding adults
lounging in a little world
filled with candy and fun
oh memories of candy
of fun, of easter

Very interesting detailed snippets of what easter means to you. For me easter is about 'new life' and a celebration of 'Jesus' ressurection'. Although I like the way you journeyed through the poem taking the reader with you. A nice festive poem.

Wonderfully written! I espeically enjoyed this one. It makes me want to write an easter poem, but sadly I can't :( Anyway... Fabulous write. Your feelings of easter are clearly conveyed!
