Graduation Day

by Tessa   May 15, 2006

The day is finally here,
all my friends and family are near.
Twenty minutes till i have to take my seat,
I cant believe the heat.
Maybe its just my nerves that make me feel this way,
my palms are sweaty, my vision blurry, i hope this feeling doesn't stay.
This is my final memory of my youth,
I guess its gonna be like removing a baby tooth.
If i do it quickly it wont hurt so bad,
This day is making me feel so sad.
Just two more names until its my turn,
Today took four years to earn.
Its my turn, i have to walk up the stairs,
I feel everyone's stares.
This is my final moment and everyone is seeing it,
I start to shake just a bit.
He hands me my diploma and shakes my hand,
I cant believe that I can still stand.
I walk off the stage,
I've turned another page.
This was my final day,
I don't know what to say.
I sit back down,
and look at my gown.
The principal says that he's proud and wishes us luck,
Its done with, all the years of feeling stuck.
One more thing before I walk out that door,
just one final thing more.
I've already moved my tassel,
That was such a hassle.
But now I get to throw MY hat.
How do you like that?
What an amazing sensation,
MY GRADUATION!!!
