Moving on

by Snowdrift   May 26, 2006

Why do we have to leave?
Why should we go?
When we feel so at home here?
When this is our safe place
and when we come here
to escape
and relax
Why should we move on
When we're not ready too
Why do we need high school
When we'll spend the whole time
missing 8th grade
all its ups and down
the wild roller coaster ride
that we all took
and we all loved
can we stand in line again?
and have just one more go
before we have to leave
were not ready
every one gets that urge
every one in a wile
just to run back to all the
familiarity
the know
the urge to keep clinging on
to what we know
and not to have to leave
all the friends we've made
that we will be leaving
they say distance makes us closer
I don't believe that
it make us farther
all the teacher we now trust
and have learn from
we have to move on
and deal with all those "high school teacher"
we have been warned of
what if we don’t fit in
what if we don’t have a friend
how will we get by
with out the ones we trust
we will miss them
and still love out old ones
so as tears are shed and
hugs given out
we all will remember each other
forever and
here and there we
will run back
and cling
and hang on
one last time
just one last time
to the things we know
and then we leave
and move on
and we try not to forget
and at the same time we try to
forget it all
