"riped apart from their families," should be 'ripped'

Death, pain, and suffering are always hard things. Sometimes it is hard to say why they have to happen at all, but other times it isn't so difficult to see that conflict of interest is the main driving force between clashes, and when clashes involve weapons, people easily get hurt. I'm in the USA, and I'm not entirely sure that we are the sole creators of the misery that is the Middle East. The extermination of Islam is a conflict going back to the crusades, and extending forward to the conquering done by the Ottoman Empire, and to the terrorist attacks that Islamic millitants performed on many nations, a good example being Israel. There in itself is another religion that someone out there is trying to extinguish. Though I disagree that the USA/Western Nations are the sole creators of this struggle (I think of it as more of a 'it's everyone's fault' sort of thing), I do agree that we should all work to get over all that and stop killing.

The message in this is a strong one, and you convey it quite well.
I really like how you generalize the lives lost, not just as a multitude, but mentioning the empty beds and the doctor's and scientist's that are lost. It's very in-your-face and there is a word I'm looking for to describe it, but I can't think of it.
The ending is brilliant and so true. A divided world is not what is needed, everyone needs to look out for one another and make the world a better place for the future....
Take care and keep it up~Holly

    This was simply beautiful.
Every word spoken is true, and you did a great job at talking about soceity's problems.
The imagery and wording were breathtaking, and the ending was superb.

Wow.. all of your poems are really great.. this a great poem because everbody can relate to it.. the only thing is that the second to last stanza was longer than the rest and disrupted the flow a little.. but thats a minor critique..

    I loved the last verse

    A miracle is needed,
    to fix the pain worldwide,
because we cannot learn from our mistakes,
and the globe continues to divide.

    you couldnt be more right.

    much love and many kisses,
    bex
