Wow Simon, not only is that a great piece of writing but it's filled with such raw emotion and power. Or perhaps the lack of angry emotion is what makes it so astounding. That dad is fabulous, such a honest write.
You have so much courage to write to truthfully where the world can see, and I am so amazed and proud of this wonderful poem my friend.

Awesome poem Simon! I can relate to your poem somewhat. My biological father wanted nothing to do with me but my stepfather raised me and cared for me. Although it was tough love. You do a great job of keeping the anger out of the poem. Very emotional.

Sie it really hurts my feelings to know that your real father paid no attention to you.....the same with my brother...MY dad is his DAD except he hurts deep inside about it....I'm glad you have a dad to teach you things you didn't know and be there for you growing up! Wonderful poem, expressed very well!

It seems like you pulled up some old pain and bad memories for this piece. Wow...I love it! Awesome how only ONE parent can make up for what the other lacks...my mother (my mother AND father) all in one...she's amazing. So simply you prove that here...Awesome write!!!
