A Night to Remember

Your hands sliding down my back.
My fingers running through your hair.
Your eyes looking so deep into mine
Shows me how much you care.

Your hands then freeze
As you lean in for a kiss.
I close my eyes and wait for it
Hoping I don't miss.

My hands around your neck.
Never wanting to let go.
Our lips still together
Taking it nice and slow.

My eyes remaining closed
As you slowly pull away.
Then you whisper in my ear
Something I believe when you say.

I open my eyes and look into yours
And smile back at you.
Then I tell you something that comes from the heart.
I love you too.

You lean in for another kiss
And I gently kiss you back.
Then you slowly pull away again
And softly kiss my neck.

You lift up your head and kiss my lips
Just one more time.
This one lasts much longer.
With your tongue against mine.

Finally, we both stop
And I look deep into your eyes.
I know we were blessed with such a powerful thing.
It's love that never dies.

I rest my head on your shoulder
As you reach for my hand.
I never want to let you go.
But too bad the night has to end.

I look straight ahead and smile to myself
As we are running out of time.
Then I close my eyes and think about us
And thank God that you're mine.
