The rain

by alone and above   Nov 9, 2006

In the rain
The sky pours out it's heart down upon us
The sudden crack of thunder makes you jump
But the flash of lightning lights up your face
I can barely see you through water soaked eyes
Our clothes our stuck to our bodies and figures
Our hair is matted down to our faces
you pull me close as if to protect me
I grab on to your back and pull closer for comfort
The water is cold as it runs down our backs
We use each other to keep warm
your skin shows through your tight white t-shirt
And you trace your finger down my chest
you lift my chin and kiss my lips
I can taste the rain trickling off your cheek
I begin to shiver, but it's not from the cold
I know, because there's steam coming off of us
I hope this will never end, and that...
The sky is crying, knowing it will
I'm OK with that though...
Because for this moment, I know I'm not dreaming
