Christmas

by Foolish Heart   Dec 25, 2006

It's my favorite time of year,
a time to finally hold a cheer.
people kissing under the mistletoe,
children playing in the snow.
put up that beautiful tree,
just so everyone can see.
the smell of cinnamon cooking,
and the stocking on the hooking.
the peppermint's taste,
and the eggnog paste.
you never get a fright,
when carolers sing "Oh Holy Night."
family comes and knocks on your door,
it's just like any other Christmas before.
snow mans with the carrot nose,
presents all wrapped in bows.
it's the same old Christmas day,
but i like it that way!
