that's for sure. we can never get to understand others perfectly. but we do our best to understand others. that's what should be valued most. the desire to understand others.

^^ I adore those lines...I find them to hold so much depth and power.

"I trusted others too much,
a mistake I never hope to repeat again."

^^ I loved that part, simply because I could read it and think, now how many people can relate to this? A hell of a lot, I bet.

"A slave life."

^^Now that my dear, is a wonderful ending...filled with so much power and intensity that it hits the reader like a slap in the face.

This, is a beautiful piece..heartbreaking, yes. But nontheless beautifully and elegantly written.

The despair you've written here is so beautiful and sadly done, which makes this a great poem! There is always somebody for someone if it's just a friend or a lover. I just think you haven't found it yet...
Don't give up hope.
