What a wonderful poem. You make one stop and think. The imagery that you used to do so is excellent.

When the bright sun and thirst- quenching rain
Combine to paint it green and fill it with sounds
From feathered creatures and humming insects
And the air perfumed by flowers in full bloom.

I really loved this stanza. I can picture the greenness of the ground and the flowers , birds, and insects. Great job!
