This is very well written. An intriguing topic [:
One thing that threw me off was the misspelling,
or using of slang in this line:

Women have passed thru to be married.

For me, unless the whole poem is to
the style suited, I prefer the formal
spelling --- it brings me out of the art,
and in to thinking about the technicalities.

Just my viewpoint.
