Listen

You know the pledge, and you say it every day.
But have you ever taken time to listen, or even pray?
Listen to the words and what they say.
They say, "We are free!"
But what price did we pay?
Soldiers fought, fought, fought!
And many of them died.
I know it made many families cry.
It took guts to go fight to make this country free.
But they fought and never did one of them flee.
So next time you say that promise to the U.S.A.
Maybe you'll listen, and maybe you'll pray.
