Farwell

Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to celebrate our education and I would just like to say that: Weve come a long way from wearin our braids back in the day with our fades, blades, and Js we look so different now today.
Weve all had our dreams, and for the longest they would seem so far away we couldnt see em like putting thread between a needle.
Its overwhelming as I look and plan ahead, I see struggles to find a job, no money and even death beds. But in the future I see the brilliance of success, and until that day comes I wont settle for any less ill;
Ill go to college and break a leg to get my knowledge, wont eat, sleep, and study for days to get it polished. Remember this life is hard and pray to God to stay on guard, for protection and raining blessings, and when you feel like things get messy you:
You keep on pushing, when your focus getting laxed, call up moms to get slapped, do whatever to stay on track.
When I look I see the cries, of proud parents with watery eyes, 18 years have passed you by within the twinkle of an eye and you; should take a moment to reflect back on your kids, and think of all the things weve come in contact all these years.
When you do so, youll realize how much these times have changed..from hurricanes to crashing planes, and Michael Vick killin canes. Or better yet the great mystery of our absent fathers, aids era, and stds are causing problems.
Paying taxes just for protraction in a war we dont like, no child left behind so Bush just shoved us to the right.
From jail cells, to death beds, and sex for barter; bush is killin all our soldiers and the definition is man slaughter. And as Im venting my emotions tend to tense, when I mention all the drug busts, guns, violence, and gangs silenced.
You know not even in my mothers wildest dreams, would she see her child enduring this before eighteen.
Seniors as this dedication comes to an end, take a minute to look around here at all your friends. Do they look the same as they were before, coming in as freshman in 2004?
Now were a family of graduating seniors, going off to be lawyers, doctors, and even teachers. We have poets, nurses, journalists and all, whatever you decide do not let your dream fall.
Stay focused, enjoy life, and celebrate this day as I say farewell to the class of 2008!
