I am a bit slow and I didn't get the metaphore on the first go :) Just by reading this poem and your comment, I think the guy doesn't deserve your love, forget about him... *sigh*... this kind of thing is easier to say then done...

I think you did the right thing. There are too many guys out there that are like that. I know, I used to be one of them. Don't ever let someone else compromise your ideals. It may hurt now, but in the end you’ll be better off without him.
