I either want to be somewhere so big where I can fade into the background and be a nobody or somewhere so small where I can shine and be somebody, but where I am right now, I'm just the nobody that everybody knows.

Don't forget your past mistakes, but don't revel in them. Acknowledge them, learn from then, and move on. Don't let the fear of who you were keep you from becoming what you can.
