If you really get all messed up with what you are saying, then try to calm down. Maybe try having friends with you when you go to 'attempt' to talk to him. Find out what he likes, ask his friends. It's really hard to be quiet about feelings, but just go for it.
If you get this much advice from people you don't really know that well [or maybe you do, just not me] then you have people to back you up, & let us know how it goes.
