ADHD

*this was mentiond in the bi-polar thread but instead of posting it there were it would have been overlooked because it wasn't about the topic i'm posting it here*

ADHD it is a false disease...how come it seems that only the US diagonis this as a disease?...its just a stupid method to control people because who wants to deal w/ someone who is overly excitable...its easier to pass a pill and be lazy. Thats why alot of people are overwieght because they are lazy... If we all had "adhd" then who would want to sit on the couch and eat chips or play on your computer whining all day....

My brother is 12 and his school tried to tell my mother to put him on medicine and take him to the doctors. He doesn't like to sit down he would rather stand and bounce around. He easily gets bored in school because its to easy for him. My mother told the school to shove it because if they were stricter w/ him and made him do more school work he wouldn't have time to be bouncing around in the chairs....Challenge him, why bring him down to the other students level when he clearly needs more harder work.......

What pisses me off is they try to punish these students because they are different because they excel; instead of offering them new challenges. And the reason for that is because educators are undpaid, unappriated, and lazy because of this. They have no incentive to go above the standard and for that the students suffer.

And the American school systems are falling farther and farther behind, this is one of the results and or exuses.

my bro nearly got diagnosed wif it , but it turns out he has autism , n he was bored coz hes really clever ... my mom saved all the looks n smartness for him ;(

how can u say summat lyk that. ADHD is very real and its not a disease its a mental illness kinda thingy...disease sounds so contagious. its an illness

There are many reasons why American schools are falling behind other country's:

a. They have school all year, while us in the US have summer and 3 weeks vacation troughout the year.

b. US schools are WAY more lenient when it comes to comprimising with teachers. Like if my math teacher gives us 40 problems to do, we might convince her to bring it down to about 30, while that would not be tolerated in other countries. I do stuff at my school that probably would never be allowed in say... China

c. I heard from my history teacher that in China, you have to take an assesment every 3 or so years starting in 3rd grade. If you pass, you are allowed to continue your education and if you fail, you get kicked out and have to get a job. So, after a while they only have the cream of the crop testing in these assesments while the US has everyone.

Tell me HOW a common childhoold behavior be a disorder? So in that case any common behavior should be a disorder such as sneezing...Fuck in that case I'm a cronic sneezer.

--As I mentioned before make them not bored..challenge them. And all the symptoms every child at one point in their life goes through. Its called being a child. So for being a child and wanting to play and not doing school work because your mind is focused on playing kick ball or some stupid thing like that. Besides if we were a bit more stern w/ our students like we were back in the old days this shit wouldn't be happening.

i agree with james daron ....my brohter in law is messsed up because of the medication they gave him ...i have it also and took the medication for a couple weeks and i hated how it made me feel...i couldnt eat and i had the WORST mood swings....take PMS and time it by 3 .... its more chalengging for me to concentrate without my meds but...whats wrong with challanges

ADHAD/ADD is a real problem it causes the sufferer to not be able to concentrate a lot of people I know suffer from it and it is no joke.
