I don't mean to be snobbish, but I'd like to try to get nominated for one of the weekly poetry contests because I think I deserve it. I don't know how to not offend anyone by saying this, but I feel as though a lot of the winning poems are lacking. I'm wondering why they win and how I can better my chances of getting nominated. I've been commenting other poems more lately; I don't know what else I can do.
Anyways, here's a poem of mine. If you want me to look at some of yours, let me know and I promise I will. Thanks.
Preserve The Doll
Never standing
Stoic doll
Sitting on the bed.
Not quite blinking
Somehow breathing
Silent doll
There on the bed.
Making life it's
Endless living!
Freely giving
Static living!
Sitting and quitting
Quitting- yet living!
Guiltless, shameless
Everything's mindless?
Giving in
It's painless gifting.
Doll is stronger
We are wronger
Standing, slouching
Crying, hurtful.
Eat me up;
Dolly's worthful.
