Can I Be Your Soldier?? Author??

Hey guys really wana find the author of this poem i have seen it many times on this site but dont know the origenal writer....

Lost and alone on the battlefield of love
No shield to protect you from the pain
Falling down again and again,
Surrounded by fire, wishing for rain.

Trapped in the depths of your mind,
an iron case surrounding your heart.
Unable to trust in anyone,
many times you've been ripped apart.

But....

Can I be you soldier?
Rescuing you from all your pain,
carrying you off the battlefield,
through the fire and after the rain.

Tending to each emotional wound,
while dusting off that old iron case.
Making right all that was done to you,
restoring a glow that once graced your face.

All these words I say to you,
Might not come as a surprise.
For too many others times in your life,
I’ve caressed you with lies.

I can't tell you to trust me,
with all you've been through.
But everything I say here,
I say because I truly love you!

This poem shows up....wow a lot over the internet. If your looking for the person who had it up on P&Q then that would be Mysterious Charmer, he does get accredited in certain places as being the author of this poem as well.
