Number of Syllables

Can someone tell me how many syllables there are in the words "Shapes"? I know Shape has one but cannot find out the number of the plural, Shapes. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The syllable count for the word shapes is 2.

This website has some information on the topic of stressed and unstressed. It has to do with the type of word, noun, verb, etc. So it seems we have to know more about word types. I to have an issue with stressed and unstressed.

I have found online counters that say 1 and some say 2. I finally decided to use another word just so I could be sure how many syllables there were.

The more I anaylized this, I bealive it is 1 not 2.

It all depends how you depict it I suppose.
