Orphange

Someone is working on opening an orphange and was asking me for ideas, how do you think a good orphanage would look like?

please give me ideas to help my friend :)

A good oprhanage should not be about looks, but rather the quality and support given to each child.

Of course an orphanage has to look good too! Kids are all about the looks of buildings, it needs to look warm, welcoming, safe and nice for the children.

Obviously, an orphanage shoud provide a home, a shelter, comfort and safety for the children, that's the main goal. But if the orphanage looks like a jailhouse, the children won't be happy.

yeh and ofcourse it shouldnt look like a prison, coz he did alot of research and found that most orphanges have 1 room for all the boys, and 1 room for all the girls, and its one block of building that looks horrible... so i figured i could help, if i asked some of you :)

Well, I do live within walking distance of a nice, functioning orphanage. I could take a stroll up there tomorrow and report back (have a few friends I need to visit anyway).

A good orphanage... hmmm.
Some place that looks like a school, but a school you could live in. Some place colorful with lots of nice plants in the backyard and a playground, playroom, art room, study rooms, and nice comfy bunkbeds in the rooms with all sorts of modern kiddy icons like hannah montana and high school musical in the furnature, on the walls and in the things they would usually use everyday. The most important thing is in the staff more than in the environment, everyone should be a child lover.

Visit orphanages around and if the children are happy there is your answer, I hope all have happy children.

Make it a bright happy place lots of colors and paintings are totally the thing and i agree with everyone too

Your ideas are pretty good, coz i'm sure kids like to have their own privacy no matter wat, and 2 kid per room is cool...

we were thinking of making it 4 kids per room, like put two bunk beds, but i dont know... the rooms would be too small for that...

yeh, we are going to make surveys for orphans to feel up, and we would visit alot of orphanages, and talk to the kids, and find out... :)

Me and my friend were talking the other time...
we were thinking it would be easier, if we look for old orphanages, and the upgrade them ... like instead of donating money to them, we would atcually fix up the place for the kids... !!!

i think that would be easier for us, because we don;t know all the law and everything yet, it would be like a learning process for us... to be able to build our own!!...

and yeh i'm from lebanon, so mostly kids in orphanages, arnt well taken care of...

and everyone sleeps in the same room, and they don't feed them with healthy food, and stuff like that... coz sometimes people do fundraisings for orphanages and they take the money instead of donating it...

and we don't know yet, we are still having people help us donate money for the project, we just want to help the children...!!! there isnt alot of people thinkin of the kids these days... "mostly in lebanon"

It must be very different there than in the US, here you would have to have tons of degrees before you would even be allowed to begin.
Children are influenced by looks, but I tend to think if there is love in the eyes of the people they meet, it will look good to them.
