I was on the bus today and heard people talking....so i got this question....if you saw someone commiting a crime would you automatically tell? knowing maybe that your family or friends or even you could be placed in danger?

    ^ You bunch of tattle-tales! :P

It is likewise a crime not to report a crime (I think report is the more appropriate word, when I say "tell" it reminds me of the time in Gr. 1 when I told the teacher that a couple of the girls gave me the middle finger, lol). But that is not the reason why I would report it. Depending on the "crime", if it were to defend the life of another (lives of others) and their rights, then yes I would. I would hope others would do the same for me (or the people I cared about) if I was (they were) depending on them.

I think if you're sure they're committing or about to commit a crime than you deffinatlly need to report.

I agree with Bob, it depends on the "crime". Like he said, for example(s): If someone stole a loaf or two of bread, or some other kind of food, from the bakery or a store. Naturally I don't agree with stealing, but it's just bread; not an organ for a transplant. In my hometown; Broadview, a little old lady from the Broadview House (sort of like a nursing home) walked over to the grocery store where my mom works and had stolen some oranges, bananas and more than several other items. She had been caught stealing before and this time was no exception. The police weren't called; no one reported a "crime". My mom just walked over to the House, told one of the nurses and asked the lady kindly to return the items.
