What if a child is created through apathy, stupidity, indiscretion, contraception gone wrong? Is that any different to a child born of hate? Despite the initial event the outcome is still the same.

An unwanted child is still an unwanted child regardless of the circumstances of conception. Unless you approve of being brought up by parent resentful of you because of a mistake they made.

i think if the parent is willing to love the child no matter what the situation then they should not have an abortion... because i assure you coming into a world where your parents don't love you is pretty hurtful. So i think if the parent is willing to love the child then there should be no reason to have an abortion, ive been pregnant from stupidity but i have always been willing to love the child more than life itself. so i think maybe it just comes down to if u can love the child or not

no one should ever be alowed to have an abortion unless they are raped, under 10 years of age, or it will kill the parent. i don't know what the argument is about. IT'S FRIGGIN MURDER FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!!!!!

intresting...how when your in a possible situation where it becames a thought, your age is brought into it...i have learned that your opinion on abortion tends to differ with age....around 16-19 or so and your sexually active ...its a thought that will probly come true. Just im not saying im for it or against it...im just saying it tends to lean a bit with your age

i'm pro-choice. But personally i wouldn't get an abortion. Right now i'm 6 weeks pregnant and even though the baby isn't nearly fully formed I feel like I could never get rid of it. Just knowing I have this person inside me, needing me to help it grow healthy. But every person has different reasons and I would never judge a person because of a personal choice they decide to make. Maybe the baby needs to be aborted, thats what happend to my aunt the baby was forming but the spinal cord wasn't attached to the brain. So the doctor told her the baby would be born still born and she needed to have it aborted. So Abortions arn't as bad as people say they are.

But I also have a friend who has had so many abortions she has to lie on doctors paper because they refuse to give her any more. She uses this as "birth control". WHich I have told her I do not agree on her method of birth control at all. Because she should be more responsible than she is being.

i think that abortion is really wrong but some people think differently. i think that abortion is just killing an unborn human being. i kno this gurl who is pregnat and she is doing everything to kill it. thats just so sad and she wont listen to me when i tell her she shouldnt do any of it.

For a human to be human the brain must be functioning and sentient. That takes time.

what about women who have etopic pregnancies where they need to have an abortion or they will die? Would you still keep the baby knowing you both are going to die? Or would you get an abortion.....

that's a tough one Jacki... this is were (for me) it really turns into a matter of faith. Since I truly believe that abortion is wrong no matter what the circumstances, I would still agree that even if my life were in danger, I should not kill the baby. I feel, that God would take matters into His own hands and cause me to miscarry before I had to make the decision whether to kill the baby or not.

And, yes, I know my opinion may not change anyone else's... and I don't expect it to...

and I am "Pro-choice" too.... you can choose to keep the baby or choose to put it up for adoption...

I would never counsel anyone to get an abortion...but neither would I alientate them or judge them for having one.

okay everyone..my opinion is that it IS murder because you are killing a PERSON even if it isnt alive yet it would be a person! your not even giving it a chance to live you are MURDERING it if you get abortion! n i do agree with the ppl that say if it was rape! because it wasnt even a choice to do it and it would have been brought up by hate! but other then that i think it is so wrong to get abortion!

I think that i would get an abortion if i had a medical condtion that threatend both myself and the childs life. Excpecially if I had other children at home wating for there mother. If there is a god or what ever god you beilve in then i'm sure he would understand the reason why I would give up one child for another.

Exspecially if I was single mother with no family. My children would have to go into a home where they wouldn't ever see me again. I think I would weigh the pro's and con's of my choice. I would get an abortion.

Right now i'm married and pregnant and would not get an abortion. So far so good no medical problems with me. If the doctor told me my child would be mentally retarded I would not get an abortion either. I feel right now I could handle the responsiblity of having a child be diffrent. Would I love it any less...No.

Abortion can be good, but when used wronly it can be bad. The same goes with everything else in our world. It is up to that one single person to descipher whether their choice they make is a good one or a bad one.

I personally think you have a soul when you're born and being formed inside the womb. Then again that is just me.

A stable home life is not a guarantee of talent, and illegitimate children have shown themselves to be very bright on occasion, Lawrence of Arabia for one.
Another con, is that the child who never lived, may have invented a cure for cancer (had he lived). Think about that, if you’re for abortion, the next time you walk into a hospital to have a mysterious growth on your breast checked out.
Having an abortion always lessens your chances for having children later in life. Even though it doesn't happen to many women, you could be the one to miss out on your once in a life time chance to have your baby.
There are other options. You can give your baby up for adoption and give your child a chance at life.
If looked at at the religious aspect, God gave you the opportunity to have a baby for a reason, you should not throw that chance away.
If you laid down in the bed and weren't responsible, you should take responsibility for your actions and take care of the child you created. or turn to adoption as a possible answer. Abortion is the lazy way out.
If you have an abortion you will always wonder what if, and feel guilty for the rest of your life about the child you could have had or the child that someone else could have taken care of.

any way u look at the situation, abortion is selfish. 100% selfish. if u get pregnant, and it was ur choice to have sex, and u decide to get an abortion, then thats just pure stupidity. and dont say 'i cant raise the child' bcuz 1. ur stupid for having sex if u werent gunna take responsibility for the concicuences (how the heck do u spell that?) and 2. u can alwayz put the baby up for adoption. or 3. ur mom could take care of it. and raise it for u. and if ur just 'scared to go through the process of pregnancy' well then again ur being selfish and stupid. u got urself into the whole thing, so go through with it.

and women who get pregnant as a cause of rape. thats really hard, bcuz rape is a terrible thing. but that doesnt mean that the childs life is one big sin. and its hard at first, but if u care more about the childs life than the pain that u feel, then u wouldnt kill it. again, its being selfish. and Fireflower, u said

i know, thats horrible, but dying in the process of bringing another life into this world. i think thats a pretty good way to die. when ur time comes, u'll die. and i believe that if u die while giving birth, u go to heaven. its still a matter of caring for urself more than u care about the child.

so. in conclusion. abortion is just another form of selfishness, which has enough stupid excuses to make some people believe that its the right thing to do.

Lets have soem respect for the individual rights and situations of all women - Pro choice...you don't like, you don't do it - but don't criticise those that do...
